What I have been doing this past week...

This image says it all!!! My three daughters have been performing in our Stake's musical "What Think Ye Of Christ?" Samantha was a Nephite Believer, Makenzy was Mary's little sister, and Maddi was a ballerina in the Wise Man scene. The performances were Thursday night, Friday night, 2 on Saturday and 2 on Sunday. They had dress rehearsals Mon-Wed of last week. They have been rehearsing for this play for 2 months now and let me tell you it was worth it!!

I know I did my share of griping and moaning about how some ladies who were involved had too much power and weren't afraid to use it. And yes I was the overbearing mother, who took her kids home before practice was over because it was too late and they were tired. I guess you could say I had a sour taste in my mouth about the play.

When I went to the matinée performance on Saturday with my parents, all that changed. I cried all the way through the performance and was so proud that my children were involved in such a production. A man by the name of Norm Boaz (who is in our Stake) wrote all but 2 of the songs, and Kari Skousen wrote the script. It lasted 1 1/2 hours and was just wonderful. I wish now that I had invited more family and friends to it. I actually went back to the Sunday night show and dragged my non-member neighbors to it.

It had a character by the name of "Anyman" which represented anyone who is trying to find Christ in their life. It depicted the shepherds journey to the Christ child, the Wise Mans as well. King Herods anger and fear of the baby, the Nephites struggle to have faith in Samuel when he prophesied of Christ birth. I could go on and on but it won't do the play justice. All I can say is that it really touched my daughters hearts and made them really think about why we celebrate Christmas and it strengthened their testimonies as well.

What a wonderful and hectic week we had!!!

Ever have this kind of morning??

I Have a 7 year old daughter named Madeline. This morning we woke up WAY late and had to really hurry to get out the door. Well Maddi doesn't know the meaning of the word hurry. She thinks it is funny to do the opposite of what I tell her. So after coming down 4 different times in different tank tops and shorts I had had enough. The carpool was due any minute so I ran upstairs and picked out a skirt, shirt and shoes for her. She had the biggest meltdown EVER!!! I had to dress her (literally) and shove her out the door to the carpool and put her in the seat. She kept saying, "I look like I'm going to church!" She looked cute but she was right. I called up the carpool driver about 10 min. later and asked how she was doing. She said she was pouting but got out of the car anyway to go to school.

I started to feel bad because she is going on a field trip today and then to the park after for lunch. I imagined her trying to play on the equipment in a skirt and that's when I packed up a pair of jeans, socks and tennis shoes. Then I loaded my guilty self into the car and drove to the school. I'm such a pushover!

Today is the day for me! I WILL set up Christmas if it kills me! Wish me luck!
