Holy Eyebrows Batman!!!!!!

Yes, we FINALLY saw the movie last night!!!!!

I loved the movie even though they had to tweak it to fit the whole story into 2 hours. I only have 2 complaints...

1- What was with Edwards eyebrows?!?!? They were WAY, WAY to dark and bushy. He could have looked so much cuter with a lighter color and some tweezing.

2- Did you ever see Edward Scissorhands? Do you remember the wide eyed look he had on his face the entire movie, kind of like he had a stick up his butt? Well that is how Jasper looked through this entire movie. In fact dye his har black and he looked just like Johnny Depp. It was creepy and funny at the same time.

Well, that is all I'm going to say about the movie because I don't want to spoil it for those of you who have not seen it yet.

I gave it 5 stars!!!!!

I do however want to tell you how much fun I had with my girls last night. I am entering a new phase in my life. My girls are growing up :(

Both Sam and Kenzy have read the books, but Maddi is still a bit young for them, but we couldn't leave her out and she wanted to go. So I decided yesterday that if my girls got their rooms done (miracle of miracles they did!) we would try to go see it. I decided it would be fun to go see the late showing, so after getting the "boys" to bed husband included at 9:30pm, we were off!

My girls were soooooo excited that not only we were going, but it was so late. I found myself getting giddy with them in anticipation. We got there and got our popcorn and drinks and headed into the theatre.

We were early so we sat there wondering out loud how they were going to portray certain things from the book. By the time the credits started we all were barely able to stay in our seat we were so excited.

The movie started and every now and then Sam would look over with this sparkle in her eyes and a smile on her face. I wish I could have taken a picture of such bliss. I sat by Kenzy and she grabbed my hand every now and then and I grabbed hers as well, when a good part was coming up.

When the movie was over it was after midnight and we were all so excited we couldn't stop talking. We talked nonstop in the car ride home and stayed up for a little bit talking then fell into bed exhausted!

My girls are growing up. I miss them being little, but after last night I am looking forward to the next few years of ups and downs with them.

How grateful I am for my beautiful girls!

Twilight is HERE!!!!!!!

Yes, we have waited and it is finally here!!!!!

I know, I know I chose not to wait in line and see the 12:01 am showing last week, much to my girls complaining. I figure I went to the Barnes and Noble party and that was ENOUGH!!!!

I did have a friend go to the show and she said it was just like the party, vampires and werewolves everywhere! I'm considering myself lucky.

We will be seeing it this week sometime,(as soon as my girls get their rooms together!) I need some sort of bargaining chip.

I'm sort of excited to see it to tell you the truth. I liked the books and will probably read them again someday. They are like Harry Potter, they are a good easy read when you are bored.

Go to my daughters blogs, can you tell they are excited to see it????

Frustrated...

I need to let off some frustrations right now so bear with me.

I hate it when people undermine authority. They think it is up to them to take care of things and never go through the right channels to remedy the situation. Instead they just barge in and take charge and to hell with whose feelings they hurt!

I hate it also that those same people are talking to EVERYONE else about certain things instead of the person they should have gone to in the first place, ME!!!

I wish I could elaborate, but I can't over the internet.

I really thought venting would make me feel better, maybe a good nights sleep will make things not seem so frustrating tomorrow.

As of right now this is how I feel...

I QUIT!!!!!

OK, I just need to brag a little...

I have a 14 year old that just amazes me.

She decided over the summer that she wanted to try out for the Water Polo team in high school.

Well she attended a 3 week camp during summer. That was hard and it didn't help that she got swimmer ear in the middle, but she made it through. School started in Aug and conditioning for the team started shortly after. It was hard, but it was only 3 days a week, that is until last week.

Last week try-outs started. She has been going to try-outs every morning at 5:30am. She practices for an hour and a half until 7:00am. School starts at 7:30 and lets out at 2:25. She then she goes to practice from 2:30 until 5:30 pm. This has been going on for 2 weeks now. Her last day of early morning try-outs is this Friday. Mind you she also has practice for 3 hours on Sat.

This grueling schedule is to weed out all the wanna-be's so that only the truly committed ones are left.

She came home last week and told me that she had to hold a medicine ball over her head and tread water.

She came home today and told me that she almost fell asleep in 4 classes today! She is truly exhausted! At one point she wanted to quit, but changed her mind when she came home on cloud nine because at the beginning of the school year she tried on team suits and was a size 36. She tried on team suits that day and she was a 28!

You would think that with this exhausting schedule she would be failing classes...Not so! She has never done better in school than she is now. I guess she thrives on exhaustion.

Today she came home and told us that she made the JV team. She was too tired to celebrate, so we settled for hugs all around and then off to bed.

Sam, we are so proud of you. You have sacrificed so much for this and it has all been worth it. We love you for your determination and your positive attitude. Keep up the good work and you will go places. Can't wait to see you in action!

Go Blue and Gold!!!!

Happy 1 year Anniversary to ME!!!!!!!!!!

It's official, I have been blogging for 1 year!!!!
(and what a year it's been)

I never thought that I would still be doing this, and enjoy it as well! I'm not really computer savvy.

I have enjoyed the new friends I have met, the old ones that have found me, and keeping tabs on my nieces and nephews families that don't live nearby.

I do however owe my wonderful world of blogging to my dear friend Heidi. Without her setting up this blog and actually writing my first post for me, I never would have started. Thanks for putting up with my thousands of questions those first few months, and the ones that you still get today!

I think I will treat myself to one of these today to celebrate!

While I am eating this sinful treat I will:

Relish in the fact that I have been journaling for a year straight
and have actually enjoyed it.

Met people from around the country, and hope to someday
meet them face to face.

Was able to get through some really difficult times
with the help from my friends.

So thank you all for a great year, and hope to have another great year with you as well!

It's over!!!

I volunteered 20+ hours.

I was called a bigot and a racist too many times to count.

I was flipped off more times in 4 days than I have ever been in all the 37 years of my life.

I had to scrub graffiti off my driveway.

I had my front yard vandalized numerous times with trash.

I had to replace my voting signs 4 times because of theft.

I twisted and scraped up my ankle falling down a dirt slope.

I had to put up with my cousin telling me numerous times I was a terrible person, and that I was attacking him and his marriage personally and that I had no integrity. Shame on me he said.

All because I stood up for what I believed in.

Was it worth it...well prop 8 passed, and I can finally sleep peacefully knowing no one is going to come onto my property while I sleep, vandalize it or my car, call me names and scare my kids.

All in all my kids respect me, and are glad that I stood up for what I believe in.

Yes it was worth it.

Vote!!!!!

Well today is the day!!

Today will determine the next 4 years.

Today is the day that history is made, we will either have the first African American, or the first woman in the White House.

In California our votes will define what marriage is by law, will change how chickens view the world, will or will not take away a parents right to know what their children are doing to name a few.

Whether you are voting one way or the other I don't really care. I only care that you vote!

Let your voice be heard, and stand up for your rights as an American. Wear that "I Voted" sticker proudly.

Be confident that your vote HAS made a difference.
