Potty Training...

Yes, I am going to try potty training today.

Ben is FINALLY talking more these days and can say potty, so why not try again.

I think I will hang a sippy cup of water from his neck so he will be constantly drinking and have to go.

Wish me luck :)

Any words of encouragement would be greatly appreciated!!!!!

My to do list...

This was my to do list for Spring Break...Let's see how I did

Sleep in every day-I sure did!!! every morning my kids let me sleep until 9:30!!!!

Go to the beach a few times- We went twice, the water was freezing, but that didn't stop Makenzy from learning how to surf. I will post pictures later.

Late night movie's- We stayed up late and watched movies almost every night. My kids also slept downstairs most of the time :)

Thinking about going to Vegas for fun- Nope that did not happen. We were just fine with that.

Go swim at my mom's pool- Did this twice as well. We finally got Jake to remember he know how to swim. He is doing much better.

Spend time with my sis in-law and her kids- We were together almost everyday. We had such a a good time.

Not follow any schedule (accept for Sam's team practices)- Sam missed quite a few practices but that was ok, she practiced in the ocean.

MAYBE get the bonus room organized- Did not even attempt...maybe next week :)

and finally...MAYBE our border will move out!!!!!! (Dave's dad)- (Imagine if you would the Hallelujah chorus in the background while reading this) YES!!!!!! He moved out the first weekend, and Sam finally has her room back!!! I have been disinfecting it, and decorating it as well. She is sooooooooo excited to be back in her own space. I'll post pics of her Hawaii room later.

This spring break we needed a little bit of fun, and alot of relaxing, and that is just what we got. Now back to reality.

Oh yeah...6 weeks until summer vaca!!!!!!!!

Zion's Trek...

My 14 year old just left this morning for youth conf. They are doing Zion's Trek.

For those of you who don't know what that is...well she will literally be a pioneer for the next 3 days.

She will wear a long skirt, apron and bonnet. She will be pushing a hand cart over rocky terrain, up and down hills.

She is part of a family of 10. Some families will have dolls that they carry to represent babies. And yes, some of those babies will die along the way.

I envy her, but know I would probably be one of the parents that would die along the way literally!

I told her to just enjoy the experience and get into it.

She will have a blast!

This is the coolest thing EVER!!!!!!

I saw this on my cousins Facebook page and just had to share it. I would have loved to be a part of this, or at least have been there to see it!!

It happened in a Belgium train station and was a publicity stunt for a future reality series over there.

WAY COOL!!!!!

Out of the Woods...

After many tests the doctors have concluded that my dad had a TIA which is a small stroke. Kind of like what Dave had last year. But with my dad, it corrected itself so he has no lasting affects thank goodness.

He still is in the hospital though because he has developed pneumonia, he is quite grouchy because of this.

We hope he can come home tomorrow (sun) but we'll see.

Thank you all for your thoughtful words and prayers for his behalf, they truly have helped.

Have a Happy Easter everyone!!!!!

Fragile...

I got a call this morning, my dad is in the hospital.

They think he had a stroke ( a small one like Dave's)

I cried for 2 hours.

He was in the Temple Wed night when he started forgetting things, and couldn't finish his sentences.

They are running tests and more tests.

Won't know any of the test results until tomorrow.

I went to see him, he looked so fragile and exhausted.

I'm not ready for this

I'm not ready to live without him.

Damned if I do...Damned if I don't

Have you ever just bent over backwards for someone?

Went out of your way to include them?

Forgave them when they were not all that nice to you?

Granted our relationship in the past has been on again off again...mostly off.

We just see things differently.

I've been thinking alot lately about all the trials the Heisel family has been through the past 3 years and have decided life is too short. I need to just forgive and forget.

The past is just that...the past!

Since Hector's passing I have really been trying to reach out to this person, and develop the friendship we once had. I thought things were going great. We actually were laughing and talking and really being genuine, not fake.

Well today I blew all that out of the water!!!

I didn't call and invite her to swim with the rest of the family. I thought she was working and her son was at school. I realized when we got to the pool that I should have called her, but it was too late.

( I suppose if I were seeing a shrink they would say that subconsciously I meant to not call her)

Later when we got to the restaurant to meet them for dinner, she was glaring at everyone and he (Dave's brother) was yelling at everyone about how we did it on purpose, and that we are so inconsiderate and rude.

I walked in and heard him say, "This is Bull $%!#@, think of how my son felt..."

I handed Ben to Sam told her to meet me at the car, I grabbed Jake and Maddi's hands and told Kenzy we're leaving. I looked at them both and said, "I'm soooo sorry I hurt your feelings, I did not do it intentionally, I just wasn't thinking, it was stupid and I'm sorry." I started to walk out and everyone else tried to get me to stay, I told them, " I will not stay here and listen to them yell at me and my kids because I was not thinking and being stupid!."

I was soooo upset I was shaking all the way home.

I thought that with all the crap we have gone through over the years we would be better than that. I thought the petty grade school arguments were in the past, we had finally grown up and could be adults and talk things out together.

We are supposed to go to their house for Easter this Sun, and I really don't want to go. I will go though because like it or not they are family.

Heidi, if you are reading this...I should have left when you called and come home and played BUNCO!!

WOW, that is quite the to do list. If it gets completely crossed off YEAH, if not that's OK, as long as we have fun together as a family. We need it!!!!
